...

So I've been at Two Rivers Vet Hospital as a kennel attendant/vet assistant for a week, and so far, it's been crazy!
I've learned a ton so far, and I've already gotten to help the vet with shots, putting animals to sleep for surgery, and taking care of hospital animals!  And today I got to do a urinalysis on my own.  I also have a lot of dogs in the kennels that I have to take care of and a couple of cats and some birds.
One of my favorites so far has been a black cocker spaniel named Brandy and a funny little shih-tzu mix dog named Mickey.  Also, on my first day, I got to walk a giant st. bernard named Beethoven.  He was actually really easy to handle, and he was really sweet!
There's also a parrot here, and the only thing he knows how to say is "come here"- haha!  So I'll be down the hallway, and I'll here "Come here!"  It's funny.

It feels really weird that the only thing I do is work, and there's no school or anything.  And it's a pretty stressful and intense job- there's always something to do and always something going on... unlike hastings where i sat around and read and make coffee drinks...!
And every time I close my eyes, I see dogs!  And today when I came home from work and took a nap, I dreamt that I was working and taking dogs from the kennels up to their owners and looking at paperwork!  This happened to me when I worked at target- whenever I closed my eyes, I would see myself scanning items!  I guess seeing dogs is better.

Aaagh! I remember not being able to go to sleep because I would here the register noises from Office Max. It was awful! Hahaa- the last words I expect to hear from someone are "I got to do a urinalysis today!" I love the name Mickey for a little dog and now if we ever get one, that will be it's name! I like the come here parrot too! You should post your fun animal experiences here all the time!
